He was the tough talking, cigarette smoking, foul mouthed Captain that tens of millions of fans fell in love with. The relationship Phil had with his two sons Josh and Jake was there for all to see. With every passing year, the fans of Deadliest Catch began to see past Capt. Phil’s tough exterior and see the real man who most definitely had a heart of gold. Those who met Phil, didn’t meet Capt. The print “Safe Passage My Captain” is a tribute to Phil from artist Mike Lavallee. Mike and Phil met through chance and forged a strong and loyal friendship over the years. In this print Lavallee has captured the essence of not only Phil Harris the Captain, but Phil Harris the friend. His stature of a take no prisoners Captain is offset by softness of his friendship that can been seen in his eyes.
